07 April 2024 – Iftar hosted by the Indian High Commissioner in Australia
The Iftar was hosted by the Indian High Commissioner to Australia, H.E. Gopal Baglay. He reminisced about his childhood Eid memories and narrated a story from Munshi Premchand’s storybook “Idgah,” beautifully illustrating the significance of empathy during Ramadan. He also recounted his experience of Jumu’atul-Wida during a recent visit to Delhi. Remarkably, he arrived just two hours before the Iftar event from India, ensuring he was on time.
Additionally, we had the opportunity to meet Br. Kamran Nazir from Delhi, an Indian Air Force officer currently studying at the Australian Defence College in Canberra, served as the event’s MC.
The keynote speech, delivered by Br. Yusuf Mansuri, highlighted the essence of Ramadan and the contributions of Indian Muslims.
